Mum of 1 and worried! I may be being a bit PFBish but I don't know. My ds is 20mo old. Over the last month or so he has gone from eating with gusto to shirking from food like its the enemy. He did have a nasty diarrhoea bug 3 weeks ago, I dont know if thats reverent. I would have thought he'd be over all that by now? He seems well again..

Its not that he won't eat exactly.. he will, and he likes a wide range of foods. Its the quantity that worries me. Today for example he has had:

4 teaspoons of fruit muesli
2 blueberries
a few mouthfuls of shepards pie
2 cocktail sausages
thin slice of cheese

ALL DAY!! and this isnt unusual.

I'm really worried about him. Is this just a phase?

It's likely to be a phase my DS now 2.2 still goes through phases of eating like a horse and then barely eating at all. Smile

My DD is only 13 months but she was the same over 2-3 weeks after having a bad cold, even when she seemed well again. Then one day she seemed to regain her appetite and just about inhaled all the food she could get her hands on!

Is he taking plenty of fluids? I would try not to panic if I were you, but keep an eye on his weight and see your GP if it continues or he seems to be losing weight. My DD lost a bit, I could feel her ribs :( but as I say she has gone back to normal now.

My 22 month old's total food consumption of the day is:
One weetabix
A yoghurt
Half a piece of toast
A small brioche roll
The inside of a cheese sandwich
A handful of my magic stars stolen from my handbag where I hid them Hmm

He will also have about 8oz of milk in his bedtime bottle.

Would like to point out that fruit and veg and a main meal has been offered but ignored.
