Is this a reasonable bed time for a 5 and 4 year old?

we aim to get them in to bed by 7/7.30 and they can read in bed if they want to. They share a room and tend to fall asleep by 8 as far as we can tell. Or are we being meaning throwing them in to bed 'so early'??

i would say is great and that 8 is bordering on the later side for the 4 yr old. if they seem not tired then all is well! good parenting!

My dd 4.7 goes to bed at 7, she's asleep five minutes after her book. She gets crabby if she's up late.

Ours go up at 7 and lights out by 7.20. Always have done. I think a good nights sleep is v v important and my DCs behaviour is noticeably worse if they have a couple of later nights (and by that I mean 8pm!).

Thanks all - i'm comfortable with the 4 year old as he can sleep for england anyway but she will sleep in in the morning to catch up whereas the older one wakes at the same time regardless BUT seems to need far less sleep.

I'm selfishly trying to cling on to my evenings for as long as possible. Not looking forward to the day the shorten!!

We're all on my bed by 6.30 reading stories. 3year old falls asleep listening bless him. 5 & 7 year old in bed for 7. 5year lasts literally 2mins before he's gone. DD reads till 7.30.
