Which course/module shall I do next?

As some of you may have heard me bleat about not enjoying my last 2 courses with the OU; Hmm I am very keen that the next one I do will be; interesting, not too philosophical and busy!

I want to get to know my fellow students in tutorials and on the forums and benefit from a bit of back and forth.

To complete my (open) degree I need 60 points at level 3 and 60 points at level 2 (or 3) It can be in any subject ('cause it is open) but I prefer History and cannot stand literature or art. I have already studied A207 and DD306 (and have got credit transfer for the rest)

What would you suggest?

there are some fab history courses that I am really looking forward to doing......

I am doing A200 next.... exploring history medieval - modern 1400-1900. Smile

cazboldy · 15/05/2012 16:59

oh and I have been doing AA100, and found the facebook groups really supportive and much more friendly and down to earth than the ousa forums

chipmunksex · 15/05/2012 20:22

Am considering the A200-it compulsory for a History degree isn't it? So I suppose it should be pretty busy.

I know the face book groups are fairly busy, but I am not on it and certainly do not want to join.

DD202. Still had tutorials last year which were quite lively. Topical. TMAs are in short form question rather than 2000 word essays.

Economics sounds a bit scary, don't you need to be shit hot at maths for that?

No, definitely not. Basic numeracy ie O level/GCSE but you don't need A Level maths, for instance. I love it though, makes sense of Newsnight. I imagine some most people find it pretty dull though.Grin

Well it can't be worse than 18th century philosophy Hmm

I did do A level maths actually, but it was 22 years ago and can't remember anything about it.

Oh, you'll be fine with the maths then. 18C philosophy - which course was that one? I have one more course to do and am umming and ahhing between the Politics one or the Eng Lang or the Philosophy one (all L3)

chipmunksex · 17/05/2012 21:49

The 18th century philosophy was mainly A207-from enlightenment to romanticism, but there's quite a bit in DD306- living political ideas and I am well and truly sick of it.

Hmm, not sure I'm mad on the sound of that. Maybe. I don't want to do any overlap so I'll be restricted to Feb starts and no exam. Can't cope with that again

Voidka · 18/05/2012 14:42

That History A200 module looks brilliant!

If I wasnt going to Uni part time this year I would definitely do it even as a stand alone module.

cazboldy · 18/05/2012 17:43

I am hoping it will be really good Smile
