Some may say i'm wishing it all away...

But 14mo is exhausting.
The tantrums, the not going to bed or down for a nap when she's supposed to, waking up in the night, not letting me do any housework, not listening when I say no, the obsession with putting things in glasses of water etc etc.

Don't get me wrong, I adore her, and I love (honestly) being a mum,
but I can't wait until she can actually communicate with me properly and understand what i'm saying!

I'm just feeling particularly exhausted lately, and fancied a moan.

Anyone else feel the same?!

Grin of course!

Wished away teething, croup, non sleeping years.
Wished away the destructive phase when he broke/drew on/smashed/dismantled stuff
wished away first 4 weeks of pissing around in and out of starting school period (1st week...mornings, 2nd week....afternoons, 3rd week.... mornings & lunch time, 4th week ....afternoons including lunch times..gahhhhhh)
wished away picky eating phase
wished away summer holidays...6 weeks of nightmare juggling how im going to look after him while both me & dh working full time

And so it goes on and on.......
Sad poor little bugger!

Yes, I know what you mean and can raise you tightwad: try 2 whole terms (ie Sept until Easter) or mornings only! now that was real faffing!

But now my eldest is nearly 16. He is tall, spotty, awkward. He won't wash, shave, change his clothes without prompting. He won't revise for GCSEs. He doesn't talk to me, he doesn't smile, he doesn't get off his ruddy computer! I have to gird myself to ask him to do something he doesn't want to do, just in case a huge scene ensues.

He is doing his last week of school this week before study leave and exams, and I thought the other day about his first day of school and looked up the photos I took on that day. THAT little boy was always smiling, always optimistic, happy to share his day with me and hold my hand. Yes, he could be a little menace too, but I have to tell you, I cried looking at those photos.

Enjoy it while it lasts. Honestly. I know everyone says to you but they say it for a reason: it won't last forever. Smile

BUT you know those moments, when they are snuggled on your knee when they have just got out of the bath and smell delish, all soggy and warm and clean, their little hand resting in your hand, giggling at you've been framed............now those moments i want to last FOREVER and EVER.

Glad i'm not the only one - and yes, those little moments are what make it all worth while :)
The cuddles and the giggles and the kisses, DD has recently learnt to walk aswell and I well up with pride when I watch her daintily toddling around - it's just such a shame she's such a little monster to balance it out!

Aaarrgh. Not to mention i'm pregnant too so bloody knackered!

Essene Bless him, wait until he's thirty, and he becomes a mummy's boy again Grin
