Liners for cloth nappies

We are using BumGenius cloth nappies and are about to start weaning. To date we've not used an inner liner but once we start getting weaning poos I think we'll want to flush them away. But when there's only wee I don't want to be throwing loads of disposable liners out.

Sooo... I think I want a washable liner, that's not too expensive to chuck, and is OK to flush down the loo. Anyone know of such a thing?

Micro fibre cloths, three for a pound.

Just buy some fleece from a market if you have one or a fabric shop or online. Is extremely cheap, cut it to size, job done. Poo peels off of it in a most satisfactory way, plus it keeps skin dry.

I've got the Popolini ones, and they wash a few times, so if they're only wet, you can wash them, bit it they're poo'ed in you can flush them. Saves me loads!

I tried fleece liners in my BumGenius and it made them leak wee really, really badly. Lots of people on here then told me that you can't really use liners with them.

So I never have since.

TBH there's only a few gross weeks where some scraping may be required (buy a cheap plasic spatula), once the poo firms up it just rolls off the nappy really easily.

Oh, and nothing should go down the loo apart from poo, wee and standard toilet paper. Water companies have loads of trouble with "flushable" wipes/liners etc

Imse Vimse paper liners last about 8 washes or more and are flushable. I also used another paper brand but they felt more like paper towel and didn't survive the wash.

Hmmm. We've never, ever reached the 'firm poo' stage with either toddler! Some children just have splatty poo, or at least, soft enough that once they've sat down in it, it's mashed into the nappy.

OP, I bought several packets of cheap fleece baby face cloths from a poundshop - not fleece like a fleece blanket, but fleece like a tots bots Fluffle IYSWIM. Poo mostly peels off this quite nicely. Well, maybe 60% of the time (DS2 has splatty poo). I used to use One Life viscose liners, allegedly flushable, but ran out and moved onto fleece as I was worried about bunging up our fragile plumbing!

I've never used a liner with ds, we just used a spatula when we were weaning, only needed it a few weeks and now we just plop it into the loo. (Lovely)
