First birthday party

It's dd's first birthday soon and I was thinking about what to do for her party. I'll be inviting kids ranging in age from 1 year to 9 years old. Can anyone suggest any games that would be suitable for all?

Pass the parcel - always a winner - could have forfeits in the layers to engage the older ones a bit more - have to do forfeit to get your chocolate. Team game - burst the bubbles - give each team of 3 a piece of bubblewrap - they have to jump on it and burst the bubbles - not straight after tea though! Ice a biscuit - make your own or buy rich tea - make glace icing buy bits to decorate even tinies can do some of this with help and older ones could try to be more aesthetically pleasing! Trying to do games for the entire age range is difficult though! Have you thought of hiring a bouncy castle - this would please most children, but could be quite pricey. HTH

What went down an absolute treat at my DS's 1st is filling his paddling pool with soft play balls. All the babies and kids up to 3-4 loved it! You need more packets of balls than you think though, but Asda and ELC do them for aout £5 for 200 (I needed about 800 but his paddling pool is big) And you can use it inside too if you have enough room as it's mess free.

Thanks all. The paddling pool with balls in sounds a great idea for the little ones.
