cheap leave in conditioner for kids

I'm currently going through head lice hell & am on a mission to get rid of them! I find leave in conditioner best on dd2's (almost 2)hair as at least I don't have to do it after a bath, can just pick a moment when she's happy to sit still & spray & comb through. Am getting through lots & lots though & it's quite expensive for the size of the bottles. Any ideas where I can get some?

No idea about leave in but to deter nits something with tea tree in it is recommended. You can get cheapo alberto balsam stuff for 80p. We use this and nit comb twice a week. So far dd hasn't had nits that we know of but atm 7 of her class have them.

Keep hair tied up too. My db has just cut off his dd's hair (lovely curls and all) because they just couldn't beat the nits (she's autistic and won't have it combed).

We use a tea tree one from Home Bargains, costs about £1 and lasts us 2 months or so

Great, I'll have a look in Home Bargains, I love the smell of tea tree luckily as I think I'll be using a lot of it!

The tea tree sounds like a good idea.

For a normal spray in leave in conditioner the Asda Little Angels one is excellent. Dd has curls that get extremely tangly and it's gentle and not too heavy.

My friend is a scientist and did research on headlice. Apparently the only thing that helps is combing. Using conditioner makes it easier. Tea tree does not repel headlice, nothing does.
