"I'll never check down the side of the nappy" and other rubbish you spouted before dc came along...

I'll start - before ds arrived I smugly proclaimed that:

  • I'll never peer down his nappy to see if there's any damage
  • I'll never do the sniff test
  • I'll never give my child a dummy
  • I'll never use disposable napies.....

I have done all of the above a few million times and ds is only 12 weeks ;)

I remember being Envy repulsed when my aunt had a bit of my cousins half-eaten sausage on her plate at a family BBQ.

Now I have my own DCs I have finished off no end of chewed-on bits of food, surpassing leaving their remains on the side of my plate.

Oh and I also have one of those snot children. I'm a bit phobic about used tissues. It's a challenge.

Gosh, I don't really remember, but bet there are loads, it'll come to me later.
I have a friend at work who is child free at the moment and some of the stuff she comes out with is hilarious!
When I moan about my ds's (3yrs and 4yrs) she tells me I am the best contraceptive ever!
But she often tells me things she thinks I should do to parent them better and she says that she won't ever bribe her childrden with tv or chocolate buttons etc, I just say "it'll be your turn soon enough"

When I was pregnant with ds1 I spent so long thinking and reading about the actual pregnancy I forgot to plan for an actual baby!!!
But I live by 'whatever makes life easier at the time' but I should probably be consistant in my approach to them.
