Left or right handed

Noticed DDis using left hand to eat this morning. Not really taken much notice before - does this mean she's a lefty or does it take while to settle in??

How old is she? I think they're supposed to be ambidextrous until 2ish. My DS (almost 3) seems to be right-handed (for drawing) and I am bizarrely sad about it because DH and I are lefties. I might tie my DD's right hand behind her back to make her a lefty. (joke.)

Officially it takes a while, just wait and see. Anecdotally though ds1 is a lefty and right from being a baby always grabbed with his left hand. It became very noticable from 6 months with weaning, he used left to feed himself.

Yep she is 6 mths - wasn't sure if they are ambidextrous for a while first.

My mum's right handed (for writing, most stuff) but uses a spoon with her left hand. I don't think she was forced to be right-handed, just how she does it.

DS has definitely been right-handed from very young, I was almost disappointed he wasn't a lefty like me!
