Are you happy doing what you are doing?

Do you WANT to give up english?

It is very hard doing a degree with children - especially on your own - and even more so if you don't really WANT to be doing it....

Talk to your tutor. It sounds like they want to help and they'll know exactly what help is available. Explain your situation to them.

Is it the essay writing you are finding particularly difficult? Maybe your tutor could look over some of your work with you and give you some idea of what you need to improve, or point you in the direction of someone who can help. The uni I'm at (Canterbury, in NZ) has a learning skills centre which runs courses on Essay writing, research etc. Do you have anything like that?

Otherwise, all I can say is that it is hard studying and parenting, especially if you're single. I only have one ds and that's difficult enough. It's almost impossible unless you REALLY want to do it.

I was studying maths just after I had ds, hated it, didn't ask for help and failed. Now I'm 4 years into a full-time law degree and doing a BA as well. It's what I want to do, I make sure my lecturers know I'm a single parent and I tell them if I'm struggling with anything. It's still hard, but it's do-able.

You CAN do it, you just need to really want it and you need to ask for help.
