Do I Need a Double Stroller?

DS will be 2.1 years if the sprog arrives. Should I just buy a buggy board? Or do I invest in one of those really cool Out and About strollers?

DS1 was 26 months when DD was born I got away with a buggy board, it depends on the child DD is now 32 months (16 months when DS2 born) and still regulary sits in the back of the phil and teds. DS1 never sat in a buggy from the day his sister was born.

Depends on your cirsumstances really.. DD had just turned 2 when DS arrived, and walked from then on. BUT I did have the luxury of time to do that - I could afford to take ages to get anywhere :-) I will use a double buggy when next baby arrives though (for ds who will be almost 2 then), otherwise dd will never get to school in time! (Will try my hardest to get him to walk back though - which should be OK, as he likes being just like his sister. SHe says hopefully..)

There's 29 months between my two boys and at first I didn't want a double buggy as ds1 liked walking most of the time. My mum convinced me to get one and I am so glad I did. It's come in so handy when Xmas shopping, walking to playschool (without it taking hours!!) and also if I want them to both have a sleep whilst out and about. I wouldn't be without it!

I got a double buggy when dd was born - ds was then 2.8. But I used to walk loads then and it was winter(ish). Definitely worth it - I think I used it almost everyday for 6 months or so.

buy the double buggy ds is too young for a buggy board imo

anniebear · 11/02/2006 21:49

I would get one if you can afford it.

A just turned two year old won't be able to stand on a buggy board and hold a brolly if it pours down!

I was put off getting a buggy board as I am not that tall and couldn't see how I would push the buggy with one and not walk hunched over. My friend used to have to walk to one side of her buggy!!

Also depends how much you will walk? maybe go for a cheaper one if only going to use ocasionally?

highlander if oyur older child naps at the time you are out and about it s probably worht it but imo buy cheap, and get a buggy board too.

i deposited my mclaren dbl buggy last thurs to St Vincent de PAul and what joy i felt, i was fed up of it, dd now 3+4mths and ds 18mths.

very handy when ds was baby and the napped together.

yahoo - what an excuse to spend!!

We do tend to walk everywhere, I was just worried about DS turning into one of those 5 year olds who is still in the stroller.

Definitely get a double. I loved walking along with my 2 sitting next to each other. Makes life so much easier.
We bought one off ebay for £70 which makes it a bit more justifiable.
