Potty training - DRIVING ME MAD!!!!!!!!!

My dd is almost three and I have tried about 6 times since last summer to try and train her but I always gave up as I felt she was not ready.

But how do I make her ready? She is almost three and I ma due another baby soon and really want her out of them.

I have tried making the toilet a fun place to be, posters, comfy toilet seat as she wont go anywhere near potties. Lots of books to read and a box of treats if she does it! She has never done a wee in the toilet ever.

Today when she woke I explained that she must try and not wee in her pants but tell mummy and we will go to the toilet. I also planned to just take her every 10 minutes anyway.

Seconds after leaving her room she said "wee wee mummy" and she was all wet. I brought her to the toilet and sat her on the seat to see if she had anymore. I kept calm but explained she must wait until she gets on the toilet. Changed her clothes, walked into the kitchen asked what cereal she wanted, as I took out her bowl I heard her say "Oh no!". Turned around and there she was standing in a pool of wee - AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I just dont understand why she does not get it as she is very clever in every other way. I always assumed she would be fine whenit came to it.

Do you think maybe she has just not yet developed control of her bladder so physically cant hold it.

Also it really does not bother her, she does not mind having a wet nappy or poo, she will quite happily go around with a dirty nappy on. I have to check her.

Any advice would be much appreicated.

I am trying to not make an issue of it.

Have a look at cods potty training thread as it helped me get DS to get the idea within a week. Think its also a case of once you start you need top persevere and not fall back on the nappies. She may not have bladder control as yet but then you dont if you are able to go whenever you want if you know what I mean. Ds on first days had to go to potty/loo every 10mins and trickle bits out. Now he can go 3-4hrs without weeing and sometimes over night despite having a drink at bed time. That us only 4 wks after we started.

It's nothing to do with her being clever or understanding what she has to do, and it's probably nothing to do with not being able to hold it either - if she doesn't yet recognise the sensation that means she needs a wee, there's nothing you can do to "make" her ready. She obviously recognises that she's done a wee, but doesn't recognise when she needs a wee yet. To be honest I would leave her for another couple of weeks; at her age, two or three weeks could make all the difference.

just leave her.
My DS was 3 at Christmas and not interested then last week I said shall we take your nappy off, that was it,no accidents dry and clean day and night. It really is so easy and stress free. Dont be in a rush, whats the point?
