Dh Dd and I keep overlapping being unwell and passing it to one another. dd is only 4months and onto her second cold/cough in a matter of weeks. Dh has been unwell for a few days now I am. Two weeks ago we went through this and now going through it again.

I had the flu jab when pg so thought id be ok but last time I was floored by it. Dd is all snuffly and retching from coughing bringing most of her feeds back up.

We are trying to give her tixyliz and calpol with a syringe but shes gagging on it. Shes eating less but still its better than nothing.

Ive got all the windows open changed all the bedlinen and sterilised her toys but we are all just passing it round and riund amongst the three of us.

Is there anything else I can do?

Uugh, I know it well. DS (18 months) and I have been swapping bugs for the past 3 months, DH seems to have escaped somehow.

It's so hard to get on top of it - you are run down because they are ill, then you catch it just when they get better and want you to be lively and energetic, so you don't get better, and then they pick up another one and so it continues. I think it is par for the course for the next few years as far as I can tell - although with the weather getting better there should be less germs bouncing around all the indoor places we are stuck in during the winter. My DS is obviously a bit older and is therefore catching things off his playmates and there isn't much I can do about that.

I did speak to a pharmacist who said there isn't much you can do for prevention other than eat balanced diet with plenty of vit c, and suggested a vitamin C supplement or echinecia (sp?). For snuffles try olbas oil / vicks on a muslin tied around your DD's cot bars and sticking a couple of books under one end of the cot to tilt her a bit when she is sleeping - doesn't stop her catching anything but might help a little while she is poorly.

Hope you all feel better soon.
