Stained preloved nappies

I bought some preloved cloth nappies last week and they have arrived very stained, certainly not in a condition that I would have sold a nappy in. Is this usual and acceptable in used nappies? I've got them on the line now trying to capture any glimpses of sun to try and bleach out the stains. Should I say anything to the seller?

Ew! If the seller didn't mention or show that they were stained yes, have a word. In all fairness, if they've been washed thoroughly I can't see it actually being a problem as I assume they will be soon be attracting plenty more stains, much like bibs perma-stained with orange sauce, but it doesn't sound very appealing.

Thanks. I contacted the seller. She sounded surprised that they were stained, then said all her nappies were like that, well fair enough but don't try selling them then! Then said the stains were due to colour. Very bizarre. We have had a few sunny spells and they have been on the line but the stains are nowhere near being shifted. I know they will get dirty but would like to start off with them looking cleaner. None of my own nappies are like this and I can see they are not that old as the labels are still clear. I'm chalking it down to experience. Any ideas how I can get rid of the stains though, will sunlight really do the trick??

Sunlight can do it, though it was a day in the Spanish sun that returned our Bumgenius nappies to their whitey whitest - perhaps you deserve a holiday Grin

Make sure the nappies are wet when you hang them out though.

Good grief! Nothing wrong with selling a nappy with stains per se as long as you tell the buyer that! Uncool! I bought some once that were "practically new" and they were stinking and grubby! I will buy preloved but only if I have seen pics and know what I'm getting!

I've had some nasty stains sun out in the Scottish sun so fingers crossed for you!

its been wet here constantly for a week so they get a bit of sun and then a soaking!
