What's your changing set up?

all has been fine with our changing set up till now. I have mat, bin & nappy pail on the floor in dd2's room. Now she is doing solid poos I find myself leaving her on the mat & trotting across the landing to the bathroom clutching liners filled with poo & am pretty sure I'm bound to drop poo all over our lovely new carpet soon Not satisfactory. There is no space in the bathroom to move the changing station in there. What solutions have others found?

My bathroom is downstairs and the changing unit upstairs, so have encountered the same problem! I usually put the dirty liner into a normal plastic nappy bag (cheepo 200 for about 20p in supermarket) and bring it down to bin/flush- otherwise DD ends up covered if i'm carrying just a liner and her down the stairs!

i keep my nappy buckets in the bathroom

i take the whole nappy (and wrap if nec) to the bathroom

i fold the nappy back on itself closed, then open over toilet and nappy goes straight in bucket...

not dropped anything yet and dont forsee it in the future either, via the way i carry the nappy

Annoying isn't it, blueeyedboy! Our old flat had a huge bathroom so I kept dd1's nappy stuff in there. Unfortunately our current bathroom isn't big enough to keep the nappy pail in there.

I keep our nappy bucket in the bath which is next to the toilet.
This is mainly so DS doesn't get at the nappy bucket bu has the added bonus that if i need to sluice the liner in the toilet flush I can lift it straight into the bucket.

I keep a toilet roll with dd's changing things, and before taking her nappy off, I fold together 3 sheets of paper & lay this on the side. I then tear off another 2 sheets, and use this to wipe her bottom & remove the poo from the nappy. I then put this on the prepared 3 sheets. I then do a proper clean up with a wet wipe, which goes in the bin, nappy goes into nappy bucket just outside her room (not in her room any more, as she's just gone into a normal bed), then once I've got her dressed, I take her with me to the bathroom, & we flush the poo! If she does a particularly messy poo (one that won't peel off nicely!), then I take the whole nappy to the bathroom & clean it up there. I don't bother with paper liners, as I used to find they held onto wetness & made her sore. Sometimes use fleece liners, which stay nice & dry.

I realise the above probably sounds ridiculous, but she's 2 now, so we've got a system that works for us!

Dd is only 8 weeks. But I change her in her room where all her kit is and I have an old carte dor ice cream tub to put dirty nappy in. Change the girl put her in her cot. Take tub with said nappy to bathroom where I can flush the liner put nappy in the bin n wash my hands Smile
