My 3 yr old came out in chicken pox yesterday he doesnt have it that badly about 20 spots and no sign of illness. We stayed in all day yesterday but was wondering if it is ok to take him and his sister to the park for half an hr this morning they are going mad being cooped up, at least if he was ill he would sit and watch dvds but he doesnt understand why he cant go out as he is well in himself!!!

You'll get told not to (in harsh terms).
Around here the parks will be deserted as it's still cold so there's nobody to pass it on to. And if anyone did turn up, you could call out that you've got one with CP & let the other person decide.
But you'll still get told not to in harsh terms.

We sent for long walks on lonely footpaths.

I took both my DSs to the park when they both had chicken pox (but only if it was quiet and we were the only ones there!!). I didn't want anything said if we went in when other children were playing so we walked on if the park had children in it on other days...you can't stay at home all the time, it's good for them to get out even if they do have chicken pox.

I don't think it would be ok, DS2 currently has chicken pox and he hasn't left the house since Wednesday (he's 2yo). He is getting fed up and bored and watching far too much TV but it's just not fair to risk someone vulnerable getting it. He's been out in the garden as much as possible so getting fresh air and it's not going to be for long.

The potential complications of CP on someone at risk are awful, life threatening - is a trip to the park really worth it???

Don't, you can't guarantee that there won't be someone there who has suppressed immunity or at risk from other complications.

I know it is hard, but it really is a short time.
