Chat/support thread for new mums over 40

Inspired by "pregnancy over 40".

I have an 11 week old daughter and turn 44 this Friday. Natural conception for me and tried for.

I don't know anyone as ancient that's had a first baby quite as mature as me (although my sister knows a 48 year old first timer).

Anyone want to join me for general chat/support?

We already have one, it's in chat and it's called 40 Towers.

Most of us are past the new baby stage, but we've been there and understand! Come say hi.

Aha! Thank you tee

Hairy, my aunty had a baby at 45yrs, not her first but still a baby. I also know a mum at school who had her second at 44 and my friend had her first pretty much on her 4Oth birthday. It must be hard going but you are by no means the only one!

Thanks senses. My nan was 43 having my mum!

I don't think I'm finding it that much harder than I would have young - I'd just like to meet some others my age ish ( have joined forty towers)

If it's any consolation I had my Ds at 33, my DD at 35 (just) and am now 46 but still permanently knackered so I might aswell have a baby!

Are you in good health? Do you have to go to work? I know it tiring whether you are SAHM or work but just asking as there are some differences.

Do you have much help from family or friends?

Wish I could help, I love babies and so do my DCs, they'd love me to have one!!!! But would probably fight over it.

Hairytale, I am an even more ancient first time mum than you are (by about 1 week :)).
My son was born 10 weeks before I turned 44. Like you he was a planned and natural conception.
I don't feel old, but yes I am permanently knackered (but aren't all parents??)
Feel free to get in touch :)
