How much time do you allow your DC's on their Playstations / X Box's per week?

My DS's are 9 and 11 and are computer game mad and I have a battle with them about time on the PS3. I say 1 hour per day (which i think is more than enough) but they seem to think that they are hard done to...

Also, do you ration time on the PC too?

No, and I find it is self-limiting except when they've got a brand new game when they can be a bit obsessive for a day or two.

DCs are 13, 11 and 8.

we dont have xbox or any consoles as dses only 6 and 2 but ds1 earns time on my laptop to play games. he would have about 30-45 minutes in the evening if he has been well behaved that day. i am putting off getting a console type game for as long as possible. friends have warned me about how addicted their dcs have gotten.

My DS is 8, and we put off getting any type of console until the beginning of this year. He can go on it for up to an hour between end of school and tea being ready on a school day - but sometimes it's less, depending on how long he takes to do his reading/homework/play with his mates. Weekends and school holidays, he tends to go on it when he gets up (again up to an hour), and usually another half hour later on in the day depending on what we're doing. He doesn't really argue about it, he knows the rules and why we limit his time on it. Also this is instead of watching TV not as well as, he can choose x-box OR tv and always chooses x-box at the moment as the novelty doesn't seem to have worn off yet!

DS is 11 and a fiend for anything electronic. During term time he does not get time on any console (Wii/PSP/DS/IPad Touch and Pad) at all. He has time on them on Friday pm/Saturday and Sunday but the time is monitored - or he would spend all day on them -moving from one console to another. Oh, and he has to have done homework and sufficient piano practice.

During holidays it is more relaxed but he still has the time monitored and is only allowed on them after things like homework and piano practice are done.

Ds is 8 and we've just recently removed all gaming devices from the house. He used to be self limiting, but for a long time everything else became something to pass the time before his hour a day. We explained it wasn't punishment, better for him etc and that has been the case. Better behaviour, enjoyment of non-electronic toys, choses to read books, no constant wheedling for more time and he sleeps better as he used to dream about games.

I feel a little guilty as everyone has them, but the positive difference completely outweighs that!

DS is 11. Mainly self limiting
He's probably on his xbox for about 2 hours after school - however this is not every day.Homework has to be finished and up to date though before he plays. When I think he has had enough I chuck him off and he'll go read a book. He might watch Tv rather than playing. Its either one or the other
Might be more at the weekend but he likes to play games with OH
I don't get arguments when I ask him to come off though so its working well at the moment

ds is 11 and i am pretty fortunate as ds prefers to be out with his bike and mates, he has spates going on the xbox or the ps3, where he can go on them for about 3-4 hrs at a time if he wants to complete a level etc but this is only around once a week in all fairness. ...as for the pc he goes on it about half an hour in the evenings for homework and to catch up on his facebook, but it is controlled by me as i sit next to him whilst he is on pc....
