There's so much choice out there, and I'd love somebody with personal experience to help me!
I rashly got a set of bambino mio and can't get to grips with them now, let alone when the baby arrives! Basically I'd like some that are as 'easy' to use as disposables, I can't be doing with all of that folding business.
What are the best brand to go for?

Have a look at totsbots easyfit. They're about as close to a disposable as you can get. Bumgenius are good too. The absolute best in terms of avoiding leaks is a two-piece system, which means a nappy and a wrap on top (the nappy absorbs wee and the wrap is waterproof and stops wee going on clothes). Totsbots bamboozle nappies combined with a motherese airflow wrap is a great combo. It's slightly more faffing in that you put the nappy on then the wrap, so it's a two-stage process, but you don't have to do any folding.

I used a system that was stuff able. The inner came out making drying quicker. Once assembled they were just like a disposable! Bit by babies bum was fleece so soft and waterproof outer was joined by poppers. Very secure and totally adjustable from birth to toddler!

I love totsbots all in ones. Outer waterproof bit and inner absorbable bit that folds into a pocket. Put them on exactly like a disposable. Take them off into a bucket with a lid lined with a mesh bag from tots bots. When full stick mesh bag straight in washer. Wash with powder non bio on 30. When come out of washer the lining has come out of the pocket. Hang on airer dry by next day. They popper as well so go from birth to potty. Or in our case 2 months but then dd was a tiny one! Only had one leak with them.

Bambino mio are sold as an " easy birth to potty system" when they are nothing of the sort !!!!! They are ok if you are an experienced clothie but only ok. The concept of sticking a pre fold in a wrap like a sanitary towel and then putting it in is compete pants literally.

The best " like disposables " we had were fuzzi buns- fleece outer that you stuffed for absorbency then put on. We used these for the childminder.

The " best nappy" varied with age/ plumpness of baby. Shaped nappies you put on and then put a wrap over ( mother ease, tots bots etc) were great. Interestingly though, for me as " expert nappy folder" when I got really good at it , I loved terry squares ( usually with a booster pad As by the she was over a year ) for a great fit, function and amazing fast wash/ dry. Breathable wrap over the top and they were fab.

All in ones seem like a great idea but generally take forever to dry.

have a look at the new motherease wizzard duos. I have one outer and 2 inners which were amazing for dD when she was weeing out of everything else in oments (just before she potty trained she would hold on for hours and then flood any nappy)

Wendy, the nappy lady is brilliant for advice
