My daughter is about to embark on gcse's but she's had ME for past two years. Anybody else in similar position?

No, not exactly,

but I do have an ME diagnosis myself, 2 supplements I've personally found very helpful are Spirulina - a superfood packed full of good stuff, comes in pill form, All Seasons is best, but you might need to buy online, as shops seem to have stopped stocking it of late - got my delivery fine though & was actually cheaper too :)Confused
& Nurozan which is good for brain health & cognitive stuff, _ discovered it by accident, its aimed a students studying for exams, but its great for us too - you buy it in Boots or lots of places.

My own DD is younger, but she was looking at a Juvenile ME diagnosis after Pneumonia when she was only 5, part time School etc :( - I found out about Spirulina, put her on that & never looked back :)

No magic cure but its helped a lot for us - my Dads now on Spirulina too & he's also noticed a big difference in his health :)

Sorry not an answer to your question as such, but maybe something to make it all easier & help her cope :)

Info Here?

Have you checked she's getting the extra time to do her exams that she should be entitled to? (Not sure if you'll need a Dr note.)
I don't really know what else to suggest other than I found even setting up my things to study/do course work exhausting so helping her do that, and staying in the room with her to get her drinks/snacks or help her with the work (if you can) could help preserve the energy she has for actually learning/completing work.

rockinhippy have just ordered those Spirulina tablets! Never heard of them! Thank you!

Glad to know that I'm not the only one but it does sometimes feel like it. My teenage foster lad has had CFS/ME for over 3 years but it was only diagnosed last year. It's been horrendous due to lack of understanding/belief, especially from the people who should have been the most supportive. Thankfully, he now has a great Medical Team who have ensured that the 'Doubting Thomas's' understand that he is genuinely ill and not faking or making the most of it!
For almost a month he's been stuck in his bed with one of his worst flare up's, this time the chest/stomach pains are worse than ever. He too should be taking his GCSE's but we've had to concede, the pressure is too much for him. I've spoken to the College he is due to start next Sept and they have been amazing and feel his health is more important than exam results so when he starts next Sept they are going to assess him over a couple of weeks and go from there, if he not able to do the course he wanted to, he'll do one less academic until he's recovered. The College say say will look at commitment and ability rather than exam results.
Have you got a copy of your Authority Educational Directorate for students suffering from M.E/CFS it explains all the rights of sufferers and is very useful to have at hand. Wishing you a ggod and peaceful day. Jackie
