Totsbots bamboozles users

Any advice on whether these are 60% more absorbent than normal cotton nappies as claimed on their website ? I previously used the original totsbots until my over-efficient cleaner mistaking binned the lot of them! Is it worth the extra £1 per nappy for a bamboozle ? Thankfully Hackney Council will be subsidizing this purchase.

Sorry, ruthy, haven't used them but at your cleaner! Clearly the most expensive disposable ever!

Can't really blame her. I did store them in a sangenic nappy wrapper thinking it a very clever/hygienic idea. arrrgghhh. It was also some time ago with ds1 and kick-started potty training.

The material may well be more absorbent than cotton if comparing the same amount. However as the bamboozle nappies are thinner than normal tots I think it balances out to the same level of absorbency per nappy. IMO this is a good trade off as I would not want to leave the nappy unchanged for a longer period of time but do appreciate it being easier to fit them into standard trousers.

Agree with muddlingthru - treat them like original Totsbots and enjoy having a bigger wardrobe choice

One skinny lovely babmboozle holds as much as one giant fuffy original.

I was amazed how absorbant they are, a great buy. My only gripe is that after a few washes the nappy nippa doesn't grip on them as well as onto fluffles.

tassis · 02/02/2006 13:42

picnickel, that's interesting, can you explain exactly what you mean...

maisiemog · 02/02/2006 14:36

Yes that happened to me Picnic the bottom bit of the nippa kept flying free and the nappy would go saggy.
I only tried mine for a bit then sold it on. Found it didn't contain my ds's runny poop (he's 14months!!!)

DebsJM · 02/02/2006 15:46

Didn't get on with mine as I just found they were no where near as absobent as I expected them to be. Have sold mine on and am sticking to my fluffles which I think are fab!

picnikel · 02/02/2006 15:51

Same thing with the nippa as maisiemog. If I was buying more I'd get poppers or velcro (not sure if they come in velcro though). Fluffles are very cute aren't they, Debs? I accidentally dyed mine pink when I washed them with something red but they look even cuter in pink! Luckily dd is a dd .

ruthydd · 02/02/2006 16:19

Thanks everyone. Sounds like i should buy a mixture of bamboozles with velcro + fluffles to mix with the few original ones that my cleaner didn't bin. Whats the difference between fluffles and originals ? Ohhh its all so complicated.

Fluffles are more like a fleece material. They dry a lot faster than the bamboozles or originals.

DebsJM · 02/02/2006 19:22

Yes I adore my fluffles. So many people seem to not like the feel of them but I really don't know what all the fuss is about. They dry very quickly (overnight) & are made of polyester. They are available in poppers or nippa. Fluffles have a built in fleece liner & poppered booster. Bamboozles just have the booster sewn in with no liner. Would love to dye mine blue but am scared they'll go wrong!!!
