I'm really happy, I've been studying on MumsNet for 3 hrs! DS20mo is having a lovely long sleep, I've done cleaning and all sorts too.
Better go get him up now though.

3yo DS taking it upon himself to cheer up crying baby DD by pulling faces at her (it worked! and then hearing him sing out joyfully 'Mummy, he's* laughing!' was also lovely).

*hasn't really got the hang of genders yet Grin

7mo DD stroking my face and gazing at me in absolute wonder, before lunging in for an open-mouthed baby kiss :)

When DD throws her arms around my neck and says "a kiss for mummy"

On a different note, this evening she did a poo, patted her bum and said "smell it mummy"

Forgot to add, when you can have a full on conversation with your child which no one else can because your the mummy and know what all the random gibberish means, tho fully aware this makes you look crazy when you use the gibberish code words too!

Dd1, at 7am this morning, telling me I look beautiful. Smile And dd2 is learning new words every day.

When my 12 week old son smiles with his whole faces when I get him out of bed in the morning!

One of my absolute favourite bits of parenting is when they read books I read 30 years ago, and they come to me breathless with excitement to tell me what's happening in the story, and it takes me right back to when I was 10 and reading that book for the first time. We are in a lovely phase here with dds reading lots of my old favourites and I'm just wallowing in it after all this time having forgotten about the books I grew up with.

blackcurrants · 16/03/2012 01:56

ooh Arctic I can't wait for that bit! I was a complete bookaholic as a child - still am - and long before I was pg I pictured reading narnia books to my children!

Favourite moments so far: how exuberantly physical DS is at everything. ALL of life is lived on the jog, circled a few times and then lunged at with shrieks and roars of excitement. He is delighted when we understand him now - 'Cracker?" "yes, alright DS, here's your cheese and crackers." "CRACKARRRRR!" scoffscoffscoff ... Plus pause for big, stuffed-mouth grin at me!

Oh! And DS on DH's back, parading around the flat singing "The Wheels on the bus" at the tops of their voices made me well up earlier this evening. I love watching them together, they're so mad about each other.

Morning sleepy cuddles
DS2 doing the actions to songs (he's 15mo)
DS1's (4) face lighting up when I collect him from the school bus and he leaps off the steps into my arms

Listening to DD1 & DD2 chat to each other at breakfast.
Seeing their concern for each other when one is hurt/ sad/ ill.
DD1 telling me that she always watches out for her younger sister at playtime in case she has no one to play with.
Watching their relationship grow and knowing they will always be there for each other.
