DS started pushing the nighttime milk away at 11mo. Now at 14mo he only has one cup of warm milk at wake up now.

My 9 year old still has a huge old cup- full of warmed milk before bed :)

DD decided a couple of weeks ago, and she's just turned two. She'd been drinking less and less of her bed time drink for a few months beforehand

I stopped breastfeeding at 13 months, but persisted with offering cow's milk for a few more months despite ds not being interested. He doesn't really drink milk at all now at 18 months.

DS is 4 and still has a cup of milk at bedtime (and a cup of milk first thing in the morning).

Yep, my DS was about 10 years old when he gave up the old cup of warm milk.

All mine still do- from dss (9) to dd2(4) they get a biscuit if they've eaten their dinner too, but that was a consequence of blending families and 2 sets of rules.

sleeplessinderbyshire · 11/03/2012 22:51

my dd is 2.7 and still has milk every bed time and usually at wake up too

I think some people never stop!

Plenty of adults still enjoy a warm milky drink before bed - I know I carried on having a mug of milk up to about 12 or so, and now have a milky cuppa with my book before I go to sleep!

Warm milk at bedtime is a universal comforter for children and adults around the world, IME.

My 2 1/2yr old sometimes isn't bothered depending on what he had for dinner, my 3yr old always wants a drink of milk.
