Rash on face after 10 days of stinking cold - anyone?

DD started nursery 3 weeks ago and has been poorly since, first of all it was a tummy bug and diarrhea for a week. Then when she went again she ended up with a stinking cold, conjunctivitis, and a sore throat/cough. We went to the doctors yesterday just so that I could get her checked over for my piece of mind, he confirmed the sore throat etc, but obviously there was nothing he could give her which I expected.

However this morning she has now developed a rash a bit like sunburn on her forehead and cheeks, she has some soreness around her nose and eyes but this is from the snot etc.

Has anyone else had this? I don't want to bother the doctor again for something that is perfectly normal.

Also, does anyone have any tips on what to put on her nose to protect her skin, its so sore she wont let me wipe it very much.

TIA

I've recently discovered coconut oil and I can honestly say it's the stuff of miracles. My DD has had a stinking cold and kept dragging her sleeve across her face a hundred million times a day resulting in a nasty red rash all over her face - 2 applications of coconut oil and it's almost completely gone! And it's 100% natural.

It has a multitude of different uses too - you can eat it, cook with it, use it as moisturiser / hair conditioner. It's a 'super-food' too - lowers cholesterol, builds immune system, great for eczema / psoriasis, diabetes, athletes foot, weight loss, nappy rash, you name it.

It's quite expensive (about £4 for a salsa-dip sized jar), & found by the cooking oils in supermarkets, or in health food shops, but a little goes a loooong way. I even put a bit in my coffee - it's lush!

The Vaseline cocoa butter stuff (supposedly for lips but useable everywhere) is brilliant - a little tub is about £1.99 I think but it lasts for ages.
