Chipped front milk teeth

Hello mums
I have a question....I am mortified that my baby girl was being looked after and tripped and chipped her front milk tooth (front left top). Where they were both rounded and perfect, one has now got a bit of the base off and is slightly squarer. I took her to the dentist who said they can't do anything until they are 2 or 3 when thye can sit in a chair and either have it filed or capped.
She is only 15 mnths. Has anyone else had this happen and will it in time just both grind down and look more even through eating and knawing on toys? I am hoping it won't look so chipped and noticeable? I am so upset.
Yours, in hope, cowes x

My eldest did this at around aged 2. The tooth simply stayed chipped until it fell out to be replaced by an adult one. I remember feeling v sad, but got used to it and didn't notice in time.

Firstly, calm down. It is only a baby tooth and her next tooth should be fine. Filing it down or capping it is an over reacting in a baby imo.

My dd had a nasty fall and chipped her tooth. It really doesn't matter.

My dd did the same when she was about 2. Front tooth chipped. I took her to the dentist as a precaution but then we just left it and it never bothered her.

Mine did this too - though rather worse as she took a big chunk off both teeth :( Shes 5now and they are still chipped and a little grey but we hope they will fall out soon!

Both mine did this, you'll get used to it and they'll fall out.

My dd2 fell and knocked one front tooth out compleatly and pushed another up into the gum about 6 months ago. It looked bad at first but now it is just her and I hardly notice it.

As others have said, please don't worry. My DD1 chipped her front tooth when she was 2. Nothing done about it. We took her to the dentist to get it checked, he just told us not to worry - said she might find it a bit weird feeling and uncomfortable for a while as the newly chipped bit can feel a bit rough and sharp, but it would be fine. It was, I think we all pretty much forgot about it after that. She's 7 now, so that tooth is long gone.

I would have thought that filing or capping it at age 2 or 3 would be enough to put her off going to the dentist forever!!
