Help-estate car recommendation needed!

My car has just died and I need another estate, but don't know what to look for-I've had this one for so long (Peugeot)!

What are Picassos like for boot space? Meganes? I have three children and have had a 7-seater, but not sure I necessarily need another. I want something reasonably cheap to run and with parts that don't cost the earth and a decent sized boot!!

Please help!

We've got a focus estate but Dc1 moans about a lack of leg room in the back. I don't think u could get a child comfortably in the middle seat at all.

Thank you!

Has anyone got a Mazda 5? I wonder what that would be like for three children across the middle? I've got one in a high backed booster, one in a booster seat and one without a car seat! The middle seat in the middle doesn't look too wide, but I suppose at least it's a separate seat?

How older focus estate, the new model has a slightly smaller boot and more rear leg room. No complaints from DD1 who is 5'5" ie. Taller than me. Middle seat is usable, but it's a squeeze with young DC. You can't get 3 car seats in.
Mondeo estate would be slightly bigger.

Brilliant ideas-thank you chaps! Have a recommendation is proving useful on Autotrader otherwise I am just blindly searching.

I had a 307 7-seater which was fine-no real problems with it, but I did find Peugeot parts to be expensive. I also wouldn't mind something that was a bit higher up as I'm a bit short!

I will try searching for Fords next!

Mondeo... nothing flashy about it but does the job, looks 'country' enough if that is what you are looking for, is cheap to buy, cheap to run and you can get parts etc easily. We have a Maxi Cosi cabriofix (9 week old baby) on one side, a Maxi Cosi priorifix (3 yo) on the other and a high back booster (5 yo) in the middle. Two dogs in the back, a huge buggy and all the other paraphernalia. Sorted.
