Leather storksak

££££ but lovely and looks like a handbag Wink

please go for practical rather than trendy or you'll regret it once you start needing to pack milk and nappies and weaning food and a spare outfit and your purse etc and some toys. FWIW I have one of those Yummy Mummy ones that seem to divide opinion but it has coped with all of the above + the combination of stuff needed for a toddler and a baby.

I've opted out of a changing bag and now have a rucksack.

No, not glamorous, but infinitely easier when dealing with a wriggler.

I've got a Bababing because it's unisex and I wanted to get something that wouldn't make DH feel embarrassed if he was going out with DS by himself =p Probably not the most fashionable but sooo practical, I love it.

Pacapod are fantastic for changing and handbag use. Totally practical and very trendy. I love mine Grin

LittlePebble · 15/02/2012 03:48

Another pacapod fan here

Another one for Bababing here. Unisex and extremely practical. I love mine and still use it every day now DS is 15 months.

I find the free Boots one fine for what I need. I reckon if you get a bigger bag you just end up carting more crap around.

Janoschi · 15/02/2012 18:50

Never used one. Just stuck a spare nappy and wipes in my shoulder bag along with my laptop, wallet etc. Never needed extra clothes for myself and only early on did I bother packing a spare baby-gro. I travelled a lot with DD (Glasgow-London twice a month from age 3 months) and couldn't be arsed with lugging bags around in the in-between times.

Storksak Emily... best bag ever, but £££. Sadly left a bottle of milk in the brilliant insulated pocket for a week when I stopped using it after DD2 and EURGH. Never got rid of the smell and can't quite bring myself to use it for DC3. It is currently sitting with bicarb smeared all over it in yet another attempt to clean it up.

Another vote for Skip Hop.

Ebay always has loads of practically untouched changing bags for a fraction of their original price.

Im same as Janoshi, just put 2nappies, a bottle of milk, wipes and a muslin in my normal bag each time I go out. My handbags are relatively small too.

latrucha · 16/02/2012 10:41

Storksak Elizabeth or Emily. There is a nylon one for about £80 which is the one Angelina jolie uses. [shame on me emoticon]

I'm just about to put a Storksak Mia up for sale, if anyone's interested [shame on me twice over]

Janoshi and AdventCsndle, I'm beyond envious. I've only just now at 5 months got brace enough to cut back down to one change of clothes for DS after the Great John Lewis Changing Fiasco where I had to ask my mother, who thankfully was shopping with us, to go and buy and extra babygro as he'd managed to be sick on, poo or wee on two in the space of a change and feed (including a projectile poo across the bench into the sink). But then he is quite a sicky baby in general, and still tends to quite explosive poos.

We had the Bababing before DS was born and it's great, but quite bulky. For my birthday a very generous person gave me the Pacapod Portland which I really love. It's smart, it expands out and the pods are brilliant. The Bababing is now nominally DH's (we are splitting the year of parental leave between us) but TBH if he's just going out with DS for a couple of hours he jusy takes the changing pod from the Pacapod.
