Wiley Online Library

I would like to look at an article on Wiley Online Library. Unfortunately my college doesn't have access so I am considering buying access for 24 hours. It doesn't say anywhere how much it is though. Does anybody have any idea how much it is likely to cost before I go putting all my payment details in.

Thank you.

Don't know, these things are generally pretty expensive. What's the article? Is it available on any other database? Or alternatively some kind MNer with access may be able to pass it on to you... PM me if you like.

I hate that as I have the same problem as you, Dougal

You could try looking on google scholar, or, if you don't nee the particular article in a hurry and think it would be useful to whatever you're working on, why not message the author directly (you should be able to see author name and the abstract at least). I did this recently and the very kind professor in question sent me not only the article I was trying to access, but also something else more recent she had written on a similar topic and a pdf document containing some useful legislation.

The other thing to check is if your college uses any other ejournal services like Web of Knowledge. Sometimes articles are on one but not the other.

I have Wiley library with my Modern Law Review at the princely price of £11 per year. However a word of caution, if the article you want isnt in the journal you have purchased - you cannot review it without paying. Can you find the article through the British Library? Online? Phone Wiley btw - they are very helpful and evoke images of tweed jackets and elbow patches!

What do you need? I have access to all sorts of stuff through my uni (pretty sure Wiley is a part of that) and I'd have no problem having a look for you and emailing it to you! I had a similar problem a few weeks ago and I was almost in tears thinking that I'd have to pay, it's horrible!

Thank you for your help everyone Smile

Thanks Fork. I've found a price....£42. I really can't justify spending that for a college assignment - and I'd only be able to view the article for 24hours!

MatureUniStudent - thanks for the warning. I'll bear that in mind.

Can't find it on any other databases, but thanks for the suggestion.

Red, my college does give us access to quite a few journals, but not this one. Typical!

Thank you Journoem, very kind of you to offer to help. I feel very cheeky indeed but I'll PM you the article details in case you can help, thank you Smile

Our library does an inter library loan with the British library for books/journals they don't stock. You get a couple for free and then pay a pound or so ( I think). It then arrives as a email PDF so you have it as long as you need it. It may be worth asking your librarian.

Also, feel free to PM me and I will check our uni for it as well.

Thanks EverybodyLovesWine - I'll ask the librarian tomorrow. It's worth a try! Your idea also made me think of looking at the hospital library - don't know why I didn't think of that before. Thank you!

Hathorinareddress - Have returned your PM - thank you Smile
