Toddler towels

Does anybody know of a good not-ridiculously-priced toddler-sized bath towel? I love the baby ones that have the little folded over hood, but they're too small to snuggle DS up in now.

Yes, I do love the cuddledry/cuddlemoo/cuddleroar ones, but for £30+???? no way am I spending that on a towel.

Failing an actual toddler-sized baby bath towel, I could consider I realllllllllly soft normal shape bath towel. The normal towels I buy for me never stay soft and fluffy, and I don't mind a bit of a stiff towel for me, but would prefer something soft for the little chap.

Ta guys

We had one of these for DD on holiday last year.

It's stayed reasonably soft and has a hood. It comes to about knee length (she's a short 20mo)

Failing that, a towelling dressing gown just for after baths? Snuggly and cuddle central.

Ikea do some nice ones. DS has a green frog one. He loves it.

my MIL got a toddler sized hooded towel from amazon I think. I'll ask hr, but it is perfect. Otherwise yes Ikea and Next actually, though they tend to be poncho types, not actually towels.

Cuddledry off eBay?

suebfg · 02/02/2012 20:51

I'd just buy a really good quality towel from BHS, M&S or John Lewis. PS John Lewis do the best snuggly dressing gowns - thought I'd just mention that

Grumpla · 02/02/2012 20:52

Ikea froggy one is very cute and nice size as well.

Tigresswoods · 02/02/2012 20:53

We got some nice sized towels on sainsburys for our DS. Been using them about a year. He's almost 2.

TheSpreadingChestnutTree · 02/02/2012 20:54

Yet more confirmation of what a bad mother I am. I just use a normal towel for ds Shock

Tigresswoods · 02/02/2012 20:54

They aren't specifically for toddlers by the way.

Always used a normal one! Well since dd was out of her soft baby hooded one anyhow.

That was until we received one in age 3 for Christmas. Love it! It's long, has a hood and sleeves and I imagine it'll be fab for the beach.

I think it was mattalan but can't be 100% so could check in the morning (it's hanging in dd's room)

islandbaby · 03/02/2012 20:41

Thanks all.

Will see if anyone's headed to Ikea for the froggy one, but until then would love to know where your one came from Vickityboo. Coincidentally I looked in Matalan for one today, and didn't see anything quite like what I'm after, so I imagine yours is out of stock (or not from Matalan after all!).

Checkin eBay too now, for cuddledrys.

we have a huuuuuuge sauna towel (3x6 feet) which dc 5y loves since he has outgrown the hooded one.
we can wrap him in entirely and it is very fluffy.

mousymouseprice · 03/02/2012 20:49

oh, and it is rainbow stripey egytian cotton.

KnittingNovice · 03/02/2012 20:52

I made hooded towels for ds(3.7) and dd (23 months). It is really easy and got the pattern from this magazine

ReadingTeaLeaves · 03/02/2012 21:49

'Guest' towels are about the right size for a toddler. You know, the ones that you get in hotels that barely cover your bits...

Normal towells should stay fluffy, you need to tumble dry them, and not use fabric conditioner.
