What to do with a mini toddler when the weather is so rubbish?

I think I need some new ideas. I'm getting sick of being stuck in the house. I make sure I take DS out at least once a day, he's happy in his pushchair so we go out and get the shopping, do a few jobs etc. I also take him to playgroups / swimming once or twice a week.

But with the weather so cold and horrible I just long to be able to take a picnic to the park and let him roam outdoors for a few hours! I'm bored tbh!

He still has two naps a day so the window is fairly small for us to actually do stuff.

What do others do with their mini toddlers?

What is a mini toddler?
One year old?

I'd wrap him up warm and go to the park anyway. Or soft play. Or invite friends round with toddlers
I also used to go to the library loads and the book shop because it had a fish tank the kids loved
Is your toddlers dad home at the weekend? Coukd he take him out so you get some time off?

Library - some do story sessions, but even just sit there and read him some books

Get some other baby mates and mums over for play

Soft play centre

Any Tumble Tots style groups?

Nature trail walk - lets find a leaf, a stick etc etc

Bus or train ride somewhere (I used to sit at East Putney tube station with DS1 who is now 10 and watch tube trains and go to WImbledon and back!)

Exactly how old?
Painting, making play dough together & then playing with it, sticking, banging pots & pans, putting items in and out of a pot. Depends on age. I'm fine about a little cbeebies, too :).

As long as it's not raining heavily I wrap my 18 month DD up and go to the park in all weathers so she can have a run around.
I also go to my mums house or have friends over for a coffee sometimes which keeps us both entertained.
My top indoor activity is to put a bowl of soapy water on the floor in the kitchen and let DD "wash up". This keeps her busy for at least an hour.

Wow gamerwidow! I wish my 19 month old had that attention span! I'm lucky if any activity lasts 15mns. i am not jealous at all. Not at allGrin Blush
