Hello, DS just two, needs first pair of specs for long-sightedness. Fisher Price were recommended. Any one have any experience of F Price glasses for this age group? Much to choose from? Which ones are best?
Thanks for any tips

Not heard of FP glasses.

Just go to your optician and take their advice. We have had some fantastic frames over the years for DS (now 7) - most most important is their lens shape to ensure best possible vision correction for your DS (eg. the "flat" oblong shaped glasses apparently are rubbish, even if they look trendy, you need a round/oval shape to give the lens enough room to work as it were) and second most important is the glasses being robust and flexible.... We had some which you could practically tie in a knot they were so flexible, and they had the arm pieces which bent right round the back of the ear to help keep them on, but I am sorry I don't think they had a brand, just something the optician had in stock.

I agree, go to an optician and they will try out the frames with you and your DS and help you choose a suitable pair.

I would try and go somewhere with a wide range of frames - we found when DD was that age that there wasn't that much choice because so many of the frames were too wide for her face - her first pair of glasses were the only pair we could find in the whole town that actually fitted her!

I would say, if you can, try and get ones where the arms are on a spring so they can bend outwards a bit at the hinge (if you see what I mean, I'm not explaining that well). The more rigid they are, the more likely they are to get snapped or bent, in my experience.

we just got ones from the optician. They had a good selection of frames in the free range

Optician - but not too wide a choice of frames or you'll be there all day!

You see so many small children with glasses on the tip of their noses, looking straight over the top of the lenses. There seems to be a rash of children in specs recently, I wish their opticians/parents would make sure they fit.
