I have been very lazy lately and am ashamed to admit that DD has been having jars frequently - doesnt do her harm from what shes like but i feel terrible and lazy. I've just had a lot on - different thread and feel so exhausted being 23weeks pg, i've not been eating well myself either. i just dont have the motivation to cook when its only me and her at the mo, the food just gets wasted.

Every morning we both have a big bowl of porridge/ she has readybrek with banana, then she'll have her milk. lunch time she doesnt eat much as she just picks, dinner we usually have lovely homecooked meals when DP was here (due back the day before baby is due.)

please can i have some tips for B L D ideas??

I'm not a big fruit/veg eater at the moment either, im so worried this will brush off on DD where we only really have banana a day with breakfast, she loves raisins, and apples.

I feel awful writing this :( :( :(

Don't feel awful! You are simply asking for some recipe ideas because you want to feed you DD some health, tasty food.

I am not a natural cook, but I think I am doing ok. I do a cheesy potato tortilla once a week (lasts Ds three meals) and I throw in lots of veg, inc. Peas, sweeter, broccoli, mushrooms. He Hoovers it up, as does DH!

I do a beef bourguignon (recipe on ocado website). Very easy, not many ingredients, and big amount. Freezes well)

Cauliflower cheese is a favourite. Google recipe. V easy.

As is cold meats and cous cous. Very easy, just go to deli section of a supermarket. Will feed you and her for at least a couple of meals.

Check out sainsburys little ones website. It has lots of recipes, I have done loads, and updates regularly.

Good luck xx

Oh yes don't feel bad, its so hard trying to think of stuff and making it, Especially if it's just you and DD.

My DD is full time at nursery so I have the problem of trying to think of things to feed her at weekend as she has her main meal at lunchtime when DP and I usually have a sandwich or a snack.

I try to make extra when I do cook and then portion it up and freeze it in small tubs. This method works well for cottage pie, curries and pasta dishes like lasagna.

This horrifies my mother but I also buy ready made mash and portion it up in those little weaning pots. It freezes well and works as one portion to which I add some baked beans, fishfingers or chicken dippers for a quick meal when I'm not feeling very inspired.

My DD loves pasta so Every so often I make up a pan of veggie philly pesto sauce (usually when i have veg or 1/2 tin tomatoes to use up) and freeze it in ice cube trays and then you can just take a few cubes which cook from frozen to go with some pasta for a quick meal.

I've also stolen some ideas from the menus at DDs nursery - they seem to often serve carrot sticks, cherry tomatoes, cucumber pieces and red pepper strips with tea to encourage veggie eating and serve it alongside sandwiches or cheesey crumpets.

It takes a bit of planning but it gets the cooking out of the way in one go then you have a stash to use. good luck!

I make a broccoli mash, half and half with a decent splodge of olive oil with some sweetcorn. DS hoovers it up, freezes well too.
