Help! New baby and constant poo

My ds is 10 days old. He poos all the time. During and after every feed. If I change him after a feed, he wants more milk, then poos again. Don't know what to do. He needs to sleep-but I keep waking him to change him. What do I do?

How did you stop her from getting a sore bottom, Artex?

Haven't really got any good advice I'm afraid, but my second DS did this as a newborn. It was something that didn't last very long, only a few weeks. I just changed him in a dim light, trying not to rouse him too much then put him back in his cot. We couldn't believe how much he pooed!

It's a good sign usually, it suggests that plenty of milk is going in. It does calm down eventually, but mine were just the same, every tiny bit of milk and either a big poo or just a wet fart Wink

My dd was also a mega pooer and had nappy rash for the first 4 weeks. We tried loads of stuff but eventually found that Vaseline was the best barrier for her. I second artex on the cloth nappy observation- we had to change her clothes a lot less after we started using them. Just try to change him with as little fuss and light as possible (easier said than done when knackered and new to it all!).
