Bamboozle, Fluffle or Original?

Have just returned to the Tot Bots web-site for the first time in 2 years to buy son no.2 some night time nappies to find there are now more decisions than just bleached/unbleached or nippa/aplix.

What do people think of the Bamboozle and Fluffles? How do they compare to the originals? Are they night or day nappies?

Dozeynoo - just bought 4 bamboozles to add to dd's orginal Tots. They are great - really soft, silky and very very slim.

I've used them for day and they last as long as a normal Tots, possibly a bit longer.

At night, with a booster and no problems there either.

Fluffles are man made fibre and i've heard some mention they can hold onto an odour of wee. not seen one in the flesh yet They have poppers and a popper-in booster. My friend just ordered a sample and she says they're really soft and thin.

I think they could convert million to cloth

I use Bamboozles on my ds during the day but have unfortunately got into the habit of using eco-dispo at night so can't comment on night time.

However, Bamboozles are fantastic and would highly recomment them.

Another vote for bamboozles. Wonderfully soft, incredibly slim, very absorbent.

I think I'm going to have to get a bamboozle or two, luckily dd is growing out her size ones!

TicTacsMum · 19/01/2006 16:05

Sorry to hijack this thread but I got my bamboozle in the post this morning and notice that it has a booster, like the normal tots size one but no liner. Should I add my own fleece liner or not bother? Also, the booster seems really long - what are you supposed to do with it?

Ta

MuddlingThru · 19/01/2006 16:07

The booster you fold so that the extra padding is where they wee.

I would add a fleece that way you can shake the worst of the poo down the loo.

mcmudda · 19/01/2006 16:12

TTM - only the bleached size one totsbots come with an attached fleece liner. For all other types and sizes of Tots (except fluffles) need a fleece or a flushable liner depending on what you prefer.

The attached booster is sewn like that so that drying is faster - if its was sewn into the nappy as another layer it would take years to dry so they make it a flap. It seems longer because the material is so slim and flat rather than bulky and fluffy like terry. Fold it over near the front for a boy and in the middle for a girl - just one fold IYSWIM.

TicTacsMum · 19/01/2006 16:24

Thanks - am waiting for it to dry so i can use it!

mcmudda · 19/01/2006 16:27

Mine needed 2 or 3 washes before they were really absorbant, don't really know why that is - something about the manufacturing process. I'm sooo tempted to get some more, but dh keeps telling me we have enough nappies. Is that actually possible

leggymamba · 19/01/2006 16:36

I have also managed to sneak a bamboozle past my dh (was banned from buying any more but they are so soft....). Looked at a fluffle but I've got rough hands and it felt really funny on them (they're same material as microfibre cloths). That sounds bad i'm not a workman or anything but have my hands in water loads!

My friend said bamboozles take quite along time to dry - I'm in the process of comparing againist my other nappies, so don't know yet.

Dozeynoo · 19/01/2006 22:34

Thanks for that. Have ordered one of each and made a mental note that I may need to use a slightly smaller wrap - I have a collection so that shouldn't be a problem .

Dozeynoo,

Have tried all the different tots bots and my faves are definitely Fluffles. Although they are a bit 'catchy' on dry hands that really is the only thing that could be an argument against them for me, and it doesn't bother me, and have not noticed any smells at all as someone else mentioned. They have never leaked, I use a ME airflow wrap, they wash and dry like a dream and, the part I like the best, they stay soft and warm when they're wet. Bamboozles seemed great as they're so silky and slim, but I think they're horrid and harsh when wet, and cold when wet. Second faves are tots original unbleached. HTH.

Flamesparrow · 20/01/2006 15:55

I want to keep a brand new unwashed bamboozle for meeeeeeeeee - I just want to sit and cuddle it all day .

TicTacsMum · 20/01/2006 20:11

I was actually a tad disappointed when I got mine - I thought it felt and looked a bit like an old dishrag!!

maisiemog · 21/01/2006 15:11

I prefer the regular cotton Tots for ds. He is 14 months, but still doesn't do very solid poops , and has a 'blow out' once or twice a week.
I've had to be pretty careful buying nappies that can contain the mess and bamboozles nippa definately could not. I don't know if they absorb more slowly than cotton or something?
I also noticed they seemed more inclined to sag when wet, which exaggerated the problem.
So they were sold on pretty quick. Shame as they were very cute.

maisiemog · 21/01/2006 15:15

Yeah what Londoner said, I always felt that the bamboozles were a bit cold feeling, as if they weren't quite dry.

BonyM · 21/01/2006 15:18

Love, love, love my Bamboozles - still really soft after about 3mths use and so absorbent.

They're my favourite nappies.

MrsDoolittle · 21/01/2006 15:32

Dozeynoo - snap! I went mad buying nappies almost two years ago (God, doesn't time fly) and now I need more for number 2 and I can get over how much thangs have moved on!

I'm going to get some bamboozles too but I have bought 4 beautiful coloured bumbles!!

MrsDoolittle · 21/01/2006 15:35

leggymamba - I'm put off the fluffle for that excat same reason. I can't stand the feel of microfibre cloths on my hands although, I use them as boosters.
