Could be they are overstimulated? Good tips here for calming them down scroll down and .

Reflux? It might be worth keeping them upright for half an hour after each feed if this is what they have, they will be very very uncomfortable with stomach acid.

They can have baby Gaviscon if needed. Are they gaining weight well? Reflux babies usually do, they suck for comfort and then find the food gives them heartburn.

Are you feeding them to a schedule (eg every 3 hours even if they cry before) or are you feeding them more often if they cry?

New babies often do cry a lot when they are awake, that's normal. It may be that they have colic - colic isn't just down to trapped wind, it can be overstimulation or just needing to adjust to a whole new world, which is what they are doing.

If they are hungry the whole time then they're probably having a growth spurt - this happens fairly regularly and again, is normal :)

How much are they sleeping? I found that DD was screaming aaaalllllll the time, thought it was colic but as soon as I started putting her down for longer day time naps she stopped the screaming...

I'm keeping to our routine and not feeding early, I found doing this they just constantly snacked! So making them wait they have a good feed.

Today they have been so much better so fingers crossed it was a growing spurt for a few days and has passed!!!

We have a happy house today :)

As long as you are aware that feeding to a schedule is not recommended for new babies (I'd say 4 weeks is still new!) and that feeding on demand IS recommended, remember your babies have very tiny stomachs so feeding little and often may suit them better - what we think is a snack is actually very filling for them. With a growth spurt they will be hungry more often, and the only way they have to tell you they're hungry is by crying.

Glad you have a happy house today though :)

I'm just going with what I did with my other 3dc.

I'm lucky as they are in a fab routine, just all of a sudden thy were hungry little pickles.
