Nighttime changing

Hi, a probably ridiculous question from an inexperienced first timer due in march.

My question is do I have to change the baby's nappy during the night? I've read it should be every couple of hours, so does this mean each time I feed at night as well?

I have a few packets of disposibles that were free with various offers but I also have a stock of various reusables that I hope to switch to as soon as I'm feeling up to it/brave enough! Are the principles of night changing the same for disposibles and reusables?

Sorry, I probably sound like a complete moron.

Thanks for reading

When they are still waking up in the night I change nappies -simply because then I know they are clean and comfy and will hopefully sleep for a decent amount of time. Also, if you leave a nappy on too long it may leak causing a wake up and needin change of clothes and bedding so it makes sense to change if you are up anyway.
Once my DD started sleeping through though I didnt change her any more, can't do it without waking her and it seems ridiculous to wake a sleeping baby - only had one or two leaks so it's worked well for us.

Oh and a few of my friends who use reusables use disposables for over night as they say they are more absorbent - having not used them myself I can't say that is fact though

if they havent pooed then i didnt change them unless they were really wet and needed it. if they have a feed and go straight back to sleep then i didnt bother changing their nappy and therefore waking them unless absolutely necessary!

and yes once they slept through the night then i didnt change them unless they were leaking!
