Late walkers.

My little girl has just turned 1 and isn't walking or even pulling herself up yet?

Should I be concerned? All her other developments are fine.

It's not so much the lack of walking that worries me it's the not pulling her self up or even slightly interested that does

Can she stand when you hold her hands? Does she take any steps if you're trying to walk her? If yes, then i suspect she's just "lazy" and can't be bothered to try walking, i assume she crawls well? I'd be worried if she seemed like she doesn't have the strenght to pull herself up but otherwise i don't know if it's necessarily anything to worry about. :)

I'm no expert though!!

If your put her on sofa she will hold on and stand, also if you hold her hard she will walk.

She gets where she needs to, she has her own technique o crawling :) almost like a solider, she is very funny.

When she is in her walker she is mad runs everywhere.

But she just won't pull her self up, lazy little tinker.

It's in the normal range. DS didn't say a word - and I mean, not even "Mama" - until he was 17 months old, which is the age they tell you to go for an assessment if they aren't talking. Yet his speech is now (38 months) exceptionally advanced for his age.

As long as your child is healthy and doing okay otherwise, don't worry. It tends to come out in the wash, and by the time they're 5 nobody can tell anything about when they "first" did something.

Bin the walker?? They are
A) terribly bad for physical development of legs and feet - just ask any physio
B) cause the most household accidents of any toy ever invented!
Just a thought!

Mine didnt walk until 17 months old. He is 19 months now and his speech is limited. Mainly woof woof to be precise. He can say things for some reason dosnt. I gave up worrying as he understands what i say to him and came to the conclusion he will do it when hes ready. Kids eh.

Just to reassure you, your dd sounds completely normal, especially if she will stand. My dd just sat on her bum until she was 1, no crawling, pulling up or anything. She started crawling around the age of 1 and finally walked at 18mths! I was never worried about her though, she was my second and i knew she'd do it in her own time. I think she was either lazy or cautious as she never fell over like alot of babies do when they walk early, she waited until she could really do it before attempting it but she soon caught up and could climb and run the same time as her peers :)

Thank you stayfree :) that Is very reassuring.

I'm glad she isn't the only one, everyone else's baby who is same age as dd is walking, I was getting a little concerned!!

I don't think not walking at one counts as late walking. The NHS birth to five book says it's perfectly normal for some babies to still be crawling at 16 months, and that you only need to talk to a HV if they're still not walking at 18 months.
My DS isn't walking yet and he's 14 months, though he pulls himself to standing a lot and can stand unaided. He can crawl very fast so I think he doesn't have much incentive to walk. I know one baby who didn't walk until he was 19 months.

Late walking at one? Surely not? I would say anything before one is early tbh, twelve to fourteen months spot on average and after that not even in the radar for considering being concerned until eighteen months. Enjoy the Pre walking stage.
