I have an 18 month old son who is currently on disposable nappies and I'm seriously considering changing to cloth nappies. My daughter was completely out of nappies by the time she was 3 years and 2 months so I don't know whether or not it is worth the expense. The fact that millions of disposable nappies end up in land fill sites drives me mad so its not really the cost that's behind my wanting to change but I've got to convince my husband that cloth is best so I've got to convince him it will be cheaper in the long run. My son also suffers from quite bad eczema on his bottom, would cloth nappies help with this or could they make it worse?

My son is 17 months and for the last hour he has been wearing his first ever reusable nappy. I have been dithering over getting them since before he was born but finally took the plunge and bought 1 tots bots easyfit to test during the day. If it works out I'll be buying some more.

Like your ds, mine also suffers from eczema although not on his bottom but I have heard that the reusable nappies can help. His eczema was so bad recently he needed antibiotics a strong steroid cream and has lived in his scratch sleeves since Christmas so I will try anything to see if it helps him.

So far the easy fit is ticking all the boxes as it's gorgeous for a start! It seems simple to use too. The only slight issue is as I put it on him he was very interested in the velcro tabs which he has never noticed on the disposables so I'm hoping we don't have any Houdini escapes!

I chose the easyfit because it looked the easiest to use to start off with, plus it's one size fits all so I can always use it with a newborn if I have any more.

Now I just need to stop myself buying loads more before I've finished the test run but I can't see me lasting the day Grin

Thanks for that, I'm thinking of trying the Itti Bitti Tutto because they go upto 44lbs so should last (not that I expect him to get that big but better to be safe than sorry!!) but mainly because they do them in really bright colours and designs!

apart from all the main benefits i've found it much easier to potty train with cloth nappies. i don't mind so much that the nappy has only been on for an hour or less if it has to come off again. if you use them for around a year then they should pay for themselves.

My dd is only a few months so haven't had this as an issue yet, but I have heard that nappies that fasten with poppers are much harder for an inquisitive baby/toddler to open.

I use the tots bots easy fits and they work well so I say go for it which ever brand you use. For every cloth nappy you use that means there's one less disposable in a land fill.

Ha ha I just read what I wrote. I use them for my DD. sounded in the last post like they were for me!
