Can someone explain to me why these are ok but you must sterilise dummies?

Or aren't they ok?

Yours, stupidly.

I don't know, but then I am a slattern and I don't sterilse dummies or teethers, just give them a sporadic scrub in hot water, or a quick once over with a milton wipe if we are out and about and they have fallen somewhere unsavoury.

yep, by the time they're getting teeth they are putting their hands all over the place and then in their mouths anyway. Sterilising is primarily to get rid of milk residue from bottles so teethers and dummies, so long as they are washed occasionally are no more "dangerous" than your baby's hands

You could always put them into a container of sterilizing solution, the stuff you make by adding a tablet to cold water.
