WWYD - 18 month old travelling in minibus

We have a local service of a minibus to take us to the bus stop, about 15 mins journey on quiet country road. They have booster seats as it also does the primary school run but ds is too small to go in one - he is skinny and a very determined explorer so would escape, I imagine, haven't tried it.

I can't take the pushchair on the minibus as there isn't room so I have him in a sling as it keeps him restrained. But the driver wasn't that happy with it first time I went. (I can't take our car seat as I can't lug it around).

Anyone else had similar situation? Any ideas?

Take a small bag of toys as a distraction. It is doable absolutely. I managed on a similar route with 2 under 3s who are both slim and the best thing to do is sit them on the seat with an adult seatbelt and a blanket tucked under the lap section then pulled tight. The blanket is purely for comfort so the belt doesn't dig in. Combine that with distraction and "what can we see out the window" and you'll be fine. Hth

Thank you, I managed to put the seatbelt on between me and him and keep him in the sling. I will try him sitting on his own in a few weeks (he's also scare of the dark so will be better when there are lighter evenings).
