We know that they change the recipe (Pampers!) from time to time, so pls could we do this again?
I'm so disappointed with the new pampers (poo up the back in Babydry and Active Fit).
BUT they're best at night for holding wee and avoiding nappy rash.
Huggies = Nappy rash.
Sainsbury's Eco = good so far with poo but terrible with night-time wee and VERY smelly. Also suspicion of causing sore bum.
Is tesco still a good bet? If so, which ones?
I know each bum is different, but I'd really value some current opinion.
thank you!

I just use the Aldi ones, cheap and never had a problem.

LakeFlyPie · 07/01/2012 21:41

I second Aldi, cheapest I've used and the only ones not to either stink, leak or leave gel crystals on DC bum.

Eglu · 07/01/2012 21:42

Aldi ones are great. I also like Lidl ones.

Always hated Pampers, they smell really chemical and are plasticky. Got on well with Huggies. Loved Moltex, Bambo Nature and some eco ones whose name I forget. Hated Tushies. Sainsbury's own brand are ok, nothing to write home about. Was a product tester on MN for Aldi nappies and LOVED them. If DS3 hadn't just potty trained I'd probably be trying to figure out how to get hold of more as I don't have an Aldi near me.

Both pampers and huggies were terrible for us. Poo up the back every time, huggies always leaked pee around the legs and I found them both very smelly too.

The best I have tried have been Asda's little angels. Almost half the price of the leading brands and they NEVER leaked.

I bought 2 boxes of huggies in the asda mum and baby promotion before Xmas and couldn't wait to finish them and get back to my little angels as they were awful!

I've just bought 'toujours' from lidl - heard good things about them, and was even more reassured when I saw on t packet a 'mumsnet 2011' stamp of honour!! Will let you know how DS and I get on with them - but first one one, is quite big so wondering if they come in any smaller sizes??

We've had same issues with Huggies and pampers re poo up back and leak wee around t leg..

my son is currently in size 3 nappies after trying lots of different ones. we found pampers simply dry the best. we just bought a lot of huggies nappies the same size (size 3) every single nappy leaked wee and have only used 5 so taking them back to supermarket. son woke at 3am and i was going to feed him but found his sleeping bag was totally wet up the back. i am not best pleased. i put him another nappy on and changed him and after only 3 hours i had to put his other sleeping bag in the wash as the nappy had leaked up his side. needless to say we are now back on pampers and i refuse to move from them. they aint good for poo but are good for wee and have only had 1 that leaked from about 3 big packs.

My son is 20 months.. and most of the time we used Tesco purple packet ones.. (can't remember full name). Then we moved away.. so have tried all sorts. Boots were rubbish.. and pampers and huggies. Now gone with Asda Little angels.
(Son very often wets through at night, but on any except tesco and asda.. it was twice a day as well as every night! even on super dry type ones.)
We've only once had a leaking poop.. but that was Tesco.

(also.. not sure if it makes a difference.. but DS has always slept on front.. and one of the big brands not sure which.. didn't come up very high at the front.. was awful at night.. had to just use them in the day.)

=)

I tried huggies when my little girl was first born, they were great at first but then found they weren't very absorbent especially overnight. A friend of mine recommended Moltex. Had never heard of them before but they are fab. Bit pricier than your high street nappy but you get what you pay for i suppose!
