No reason why not. Our dentist suggested it a couple of years ago, DS was 6 then, and has been using it since then.

hope so because dd and ds have been using theirs from about the age of 2 (now 8 and 5)

Yep - we were advised to by dentist from age 2 - WE used it for them then of course..... then from 5 or 6 they used it with close supervision til about 9 now both use it unsupervised, but are fully aware of what will happen to their teeth if they don't do it properly - 3 of their friends now have fillings (age 10 and 11)

but..... always make sure they have their own - we tried the shared oral B type but hygeine is difficult - bugs spread quickly from the use of the shared handle

My 2yr old loves his. As does my 6yr old.

Go for it!

Thanks for this, always used a kids electric for him before, did wonder if was a gimmick and from your answers seems 'yes', now feel a bit of a div!!

When I asked our dentist, he said he prefers kids to use a manual toothbrush up till 6 or 7 to help build their manual dexterity (he has several kids). After that he's happy with electric.

My dentist said to hold off until my DS is about 7-8.
