Clothing for breastfeeding

Baby born yesterday, forgotten where my old nursing tops are... i really just want some new simple long sleeve t shirt tops which have a double layer so I can put new baby up underneath to feed while not exposing my tummy to the cold/in-laws. A Henley style or scoop neck would be ideal.
I find the tight Vest style nursing tops with holes for your breasts to poke through really annoying to wear because I like to wear my nursing bras... I always leak and those vests don't hold the pads securely.
Mothercare doesn't seem to have anything online and at the other end of the scale, BabeswithBabies never show pix of how the tops work, so you just have to guess, which is insanely irritating.
Will cope with ordinary T shirts and Bump bands, but wd like to use Xmas present to self excuse!
Can anyone help me in time for Xmas?!?!
Thanks!

Tried jojomamanbebe? They're usually good for basics

I got loads of stretchy vests from Marks and Spencer - I think they're less than a tenner for 2 and come in loads of different colours. Great for covering the tummy, and I just pulled my boob over the top (which was obviously covered by the t-shirt or whatever I was wearing on top).

I go for the old cheap Primani stretchy vest under the top of my choice. WOrks a treat.

Vest tops from primark are THE best any only £2-£3 I have lots

I'm planning on buying some breastvests as I have huge boobs and the ordinary vest didn't really work for me.

Milkbug has some nice things and diagrams I think. I'm a computer idiot, not mastered links yet..

SleepingWithGhosts · 06/01/2012 02:07

I found the vest top under a normal top the best method, covers your breasts and tummy and so simple to do.

I got cheap vests from Primark/charity shops & cut holes into them so I can unhook bra & poke boob out. I am stylish, me.

Wrap tops/dresses over a stretchy top are good.

Congrats!

I bought some stretchy vests from M&S and wore them under my usual tops.

That way, I wasn't revealing my tummy to everyone and I could just wear my old clothes.

Think these are the M&S ones:

Not the cheapest but they are LOVELY!

Congratulations and good luck!

ViolaCrayola · 11/01/2012 21:12

I agree with the vest under top/jumper method. Much cheaper and just as effective! I was so happy when someone told me about it. :)
Jumper up, vest down... I think!

I got a few long sleeved ones from www.boobdesign.com/
They open up in the middle, very handy. There are a few shops that stock them too.
