quechelle · 18/12/2011 13:54

so xmas is only days away, everyone has ther own views and opinions on how much to spend on the kids or how many prezzys to get. lets hear them.
how do you go about your xmas day also??

ive spent about 100 on each of mine they have three main prezzys + some clothes and stocking fillers. for me i think thats well enough. my girls are 1 1/2 and 2 1/2.
xmas for me always starts with prezzys before anything, then breccy, stick the dinner on ready then get working out how the hell to put the prezzys together or wer the batterys go lol

Don't have kids yet, pregnant with the first, but £100 sounds about rigth for my imaginary kids Wink

Iggly · 18/12/2011 15:40

We've spent about £50 on DS (2) and £10 on DD (2 weeks)

While they're young we're keeping the cost down despite me wanting to go all out Grin

We try and have one main gift but will buy bits during the year especially the summer as DS's birthday is autumn so no point waiting until then for things like a scooter or bike.

Timeoutofmind · 19/12/2011 20:24

We have spent about £60 on 11mo DD as it her birthday at the beginning of January so we have spent about the same for this. I'm sure that this will be our cheapest Xmas!!

We will prob end up getting her more stuff in the summer like swing, slide, trike etc with her bday & Xmas being so close!!

Woah! We only have one dd but our Xmas present budget for EVERYONE'S presents is £120! We have a very low income though, would possibly spend more if we could :)

CogitoErgoSometimes · 20/12/2011 07:50

I've always done a stocking 'from Santa' of bits and pieces that can be opened when DS gets up and then there are main presents 'from people' under the tree. So it's stocking first, then breakfast, then rest of the presents shared out & opened when the family arrive. I think, once the turkey is in the oven, you've got several hours to kill before anything else really needs doing. And I like to get everyone involved in peeling spuds and setting tables anyway! As for how much I spend on DS... far too much. :)

DD is 20 months, we've spent about £50. I am sure I will spend more when she's old enough to ask for things but at the moment she will probably enjoy the unwrapping more than the presents!

I don't really get giving clothes as presents for little ones - surely that's more a present for you than them? I buy DD loads of clothes but I realise that's because it gives me pleasure to see her looking sweet - she couldn't care less as long as she's comfortable!

TheChristmasCountessOlenska · 20/12/2011 08:42

Oh, and it's stockings before breakfast then all other presents mid-morning before lunch.

ellesabe · 20/12/2011 11:02

We do stockings in bed, breakfast, church, presents under the tree, lunch, board games, dessert!

MrsDobalina · 20/12/2011 19:22

About £20 each (age 1 and 2) because of exactly what iggly said!

We'll do stocking, breakfast, presents (or maybe presents first, it used to drive me mad as a kid that we had to wait aaages to open our presents and even then they got eeked out over 2 days). We are going into town for Japanese for lunch - yum! I can't wait Grin.
