how to deal with bad dreams (probably caused by watching Kung Fu Panda 2)?

ds is 4.5 and somewhat sensitive when it comes to scary stuff on TV (ie has been known in the past to be frightened by Fireman Sam).

A few weeks back he went to a birthday party where they watched Kung Fu Panda 2. I had checked about what they would be watching but didn't actually look up the rating (PG, U is really all ds can cope with) and I assumed it would be fine.

Anyway ds had a few bad dreams in the week after the party but couldn't tell me what they were about. He doesn't seem to have had any more since but is constantly telling me that he has dreams about the evil Peacock trying to kill him, or trying to kill me, and becoming his mummy.

Any ideas on how I can help him with this please? I've tried saying that the peacock is just a cartoon character, so he could get a big eraser and rub it out, or scrumple it up. But he is going on and on about it and it seems to be becoming a really big deal.

Anyone seen the film? Is it that bad or he is just being wet overly sensitive?

My DD has a dream catcher to trap the bad dreams and stop them getting to her. If she does have one I give it a bit of a tap/shake as it must be full and she goes off back to sleep okay.

I have seen that film. It's not too bad - but he's not being overly sensitive. Just many people are getting desensitised to scary images now. Like that scene in Happy Feet with the seal - chase scenes/sound effects etc have all got so good these days it's like from Jaws or something.

Thanks, will give that a go. He slept in my bed all night last night and this morning was telling me about the bluddy Peacock coming to get him - if he is having bad dreams, they are very quiet ones as he didn't wake up!

Now thinking that he just imagining stuff during the day- he says it is in his head the whole time. How can you get rid of something in someone's head?!
