Pamper Baby-Dry vs. Lidl

I live in the Netherlands where I use the own-brand of a local version of Boots. I will be spending 8 days over Christmas in England.

I have read on here that Lidl and Aldi are highly regarded, but the Dutch version of Watchdog did a test of nappies in April this year and Papmpers baby-dry came out a tad above Lidl (the winner was the brand I use over here). The comments said that the Pampers had the disadvantage of due to the ability to absorb a lot of liquid, the nappy becomes heavy quickly. Whereas the main disadvantages of the Lidl brand was that is not that good was for very watery poos and that the tapes(?) to fasten the nappy where not very stretchy (DS is quite a chubby baby).

So can you shed any light on how these two brands compare?

I know that Lidl work brilliantly for many of my friends. However, we find them leaky for DS. Same for Pampers. The only nappies that don't leak for us are Asda Little Angels.

We find Lidl nappies great. TBH, Pampers would have to offer something amazing for the price difference to be worth it.

Lidl nappies are useless on DD, they leak all the time. I think she must be the wrong shape for them or something, they always worked for the DS's.

Huggies also leak on DD as well.

lidl nappies are great, as are asda own brand and other own brands. I find pampers smelly and not fitting well the shape of my dc.

Lidl are great for my chunky little monkey! They only sometimes leak up the back, nowhere else.
Cost around £5 for 50ish.

I'm in NL too and I honestly prefer the dutch lidl nappies to pampers which I think have an odd smell to them.

Lidl have within the last 6 weeks or so "upgraded" their nappies and they're even slimmer.

We've not had any problems with leaks tbh.

Had to buy aldi this week and not impressed. :(

Have you tried the own brand of Kruidvat?We use them and are very happy with them. They also came out as the best on the Dutch version of Watchdog (Kassa) nappy test.

Didn't get on with the kruidvat stuff and also distinctly overwhelmed by egos although huggies for us, are at the bottom of the pile.

Underwhelmed by etos!.

Returned from Blighty last week.I used Lidl nappies.In the 8 day visit there were 2 leakages (thankfully only wee) from the leg opening-unfortunately the 2nd time during the flight home! So,not that impressed with Lidl-the Dutch brand I normally use seems much better.
