Getting started with reuseables...confused!

DD is 6mo and over 15kg...I used mothercare smart nappies along with disposables at first and was really happy with them. They have since stopped making them.

Is there a one-size nappy system which goes right through from this stage to potty training? Or at least where i won't have to frequently buy the next size up? Not too expensive?

How many outers do I need? Inner bits? I will probably use disposables when out and about still.

Thank you!

Now you've got to 6 months, that's probably a size 2 in sized nappies which may get you to potty training - try Itti Bittis, Blueberries, Tots Bots, Bamboozles, Bumgenius...

One-size nappies may now fit well too - I used Kushies, can't think of others offhand. I also used lots of Motherease nappies with inserts and wraps - size 2 wraps then size 3. I had about 3 wraps and loads of nappies. The nappies are about to be used on their 6th baby so I found after a year the area where the nippa fastening went was worn too smooth.

What I found really helpful was going to second-hand nappy sites and buying bundles of nappies, then finding what I liked and what fit ds well. Clothnappytree was good, also Mumsnet of course!

If your baby is going to nursery I recommend all-in-one or stuffables, so the staff just have to put the nappy on like a disposable. But sometimes one will get lost which is another reason to go second-hand (they lost the lovely purple velvet Blueberry I got ds for Christmas when he was 1!)

I absolutely love the Dotty Bots applique nappies. They are the only all in one nappy I've tried that is really efficient, as it's got a double seal at the legs. And they're cute and a good price.

I would recommend either Pop'n'Gro V2, which is a birth-to-potty nappy so will fit all the way through. Or a pop'n'gro pocket size 2 which is very very generous at its largest sizing, so may be slightly too big right now.

Thank you, and how many outer bits and inner bits do you generally need?
