He is really excited, I am really sad. I know it is silly but he is my baby, I know he is 3 but he is my baby.

Never felt like this with the girls

dda starts pre-school for 3 hours twice a week and I am dreading it
I will miss her [sniff]

HappyNewFrannyandZooey · 04/01/2006 12:58

Hoi, get you hc, who was it telling that other poster not to send her daughter if she didn't want to?

I think it's very hard when they are ready, but you are not, nutty

harpsichordcarrier · 04/01/2006 13:00

I know I know
[sniff] [sniff]
It seemed like a good idea but now it's here....
still it will get me out of painting for a bit hopefully
[brightening]

Can you find a very specific thing to be doing on the first few days he is there - to take your mind off of it.

nutcracker · 04/01/2006 13:02

I think it is worse because he is the youngest so it's kinds of like 'thats it now', next it will be school and then the baby part of life is well and truly over.

Blimey, depressed myself even more now.

I know I will get used to it eventually.

I have felt like this at virtually every stage, nutty, I have looked after so many children and seen them all grow up too fast - I just wish he would stay the age he is at any one time

harpsichordcarrier · 04/01/2006 13:04

blimey look at the lot of us

HappyNewFrannyandZooey · 04/01/2006 13:04

And hc, thinking positively, it will give you more time to read my epic emails

HappyNewFrannyandZooey · 04/01/2006 13:06

I have successfully avoided the nursery thing so far, ds did start saying he wanted to go, but after we visited one he shut up about it. Just as well because it was pants there and there's not way I would have sent him.

However I'm sure your ones are paragons of perfection, hc and nutty.

nutcracker · 04/01/2006 13:07

Who else is going to have me in fits of laughter by walking round the back of me to see if I have boobies there too

The nursery is great, both dd's went there and I have no worries about it at all. Have no worries about him either, he is more than ready to go.

It's me I want him to stay 3 forever, like I wanted him to stay 2 forever and 1 forever.

harpsichordcarrier · 04/01/2006 13:11

no this isn't about them
it's about us
please let us wallow for a while...
dd1 is such good company....

HappyNewFrannyandZooey · 04/01/2006 13:16

Silver linings:

You will appreciate them even more

You will get to finish a cup of tea

You can make a phone call without someone singing in your ear

You will improve the economy by paying the wages of nursery workers
