Ds (very nearly 4)is starting to be a pain.
I want to start a reward chart for the basic things, i.e tidy your bedroom, get dressed, brush teeth etc.
How do I go about it? Do I go down the traditional route (star chart)?, how do I do the layout?, how do I treat him when the charts full?,do I do it daily/weekly?.
I vaguely remember seeing something somewhere about filling jars up with something??
Help please!
(Sorry for all the questions!)

Hi there, thought I would offer my contribution.. My Daughter is now 14 but she went through a period when she was 3/4 where she required a tougher approach. The 'fairies' delivered some silver tokens in the night which were called 'chance' tokens, when her behaviour was good she earnt one and had a small fabric bag to keep them in, when she got a certain amount (I think 10) she was allowed to get a magazine or do something. Of course if she was naughty she lost one. It worked for us really well and she still talks about it now! It may be because she could hold them in her hand rather than just see them that it worked so well.

The tokens were accompanied I think by a letter from the 'fairies' saying that her behaviour needed to improve! Ideal timing right now to introduce something in conjunction with Xmas! Only problem is you have to be strong and follow through any punishment!

I think also because the 'fairies' bought the tokens they apparently weren't anything to do with us so it distanced her from the parential definance mode so many kids slip into!

This was just a little system we made up ourselves, I am sure 'supernanny' would have a better method!

Good luck.
