potty/toilet training your child the piscine way
(no not in a swimming pool... though that would be easy come to think of it)

you will need:
antibacterial wipes 'n' spray

sweets [or rice cakes if franny or other lentul weaver]

a potty [or toilet])

care mats

spare pants

and cheapo joggers

watch this space*

This thread makes me happier than anything because every one of my four children is POTTY TRAINED and I will never have to do this again!!!!

Agree with Cod though - the rest of you: gird your loins and roll up your sleeves and GET ON WITH IT!

(Good luck and have fun! )

DS is 2.1 - I can't decide whether I am up tp the thought of toilet training or not. Plus also have a 16 week old DD.

Can't I just put it off until the summer?

I could do I suppose - he does occasionally wee on the potty but I feel I should make a proper effort (or make no effort

spursmum · 08/01/2006 14:11

Any chance this will work on my ASD ds? he's almost 4 but doesn't quite get the whole toilet thing. He can stay dry throughout nursery for 4 hours but will not let go on the toilet or potty.
I want help as I don't want him to be in nappies forever

Lonelymum · 08/01/2006 14:12

Well, you and I did it together in the summer Cod, but I think we mutually agreed on our technique. I do have to say my little one still wets himself occasionally, I bet yours doesn't!, but never in awkward places.

Incidentally, is your ds3 out of nappies at night too? Mine still wears them because he is still in a cot, but he has only wet his nappy once in four months, and he never wants the loo at night so really we should stop them shouldn't we?

Much appreciated. This could be interesting

Lonelymum · 08/01/2006 14:21

Yep you are right. We keep saying we will stop the nappies when he is out of the cot, but we need to buy a bed first. Perhaps we should turn it around and stop buying the nappies as an incentive to buying the bed!

dd2 completely accident free yesterday, thanks to a nasty cold she was at home with me and performed excellently
